Toshiba Satellite L755-S5271 Pros and Cons

Pros: I really like the design features. I mean, It’s nothing spectacular or “industry changing”, but it gets the job done without getting you pissed off. I hate when a laptop crunches all the buttons into as small as space as possible so you hit 4 different buttons at once and none of them were the W that you wanted to type…LOL. It’s also very light in weight. You won’t really care about how much a laptop weighs until you actually get it, but for me, I want it as light weight as possible and this one meets the standards at under 6 pounds.

The Toshiba L755-S5271 has decent battery life at around 5 hours. This is from toshiba so I guess you can expect around 4 hours if you don’t want to run on low power levels. The processor is a Intel Core i3, which is more than enough power for most people. Again, this is a laptop that is for the average user so I wouldn’t expect a high power processor, but trust me, you won’t notice a difference if you only use it for internet, games, skype, watching movies, etc. If you are a graphic designer, I would think about a more powerful laptop.

Cons: Some people have problems using the touchpad, which is not covered under the warranty, but this has not been a standard problem with many so I wouldn’t be too worried about it. The speaker quality is not up to par. Most laptops don’t have great sound, this laptop comes with Dolby Audio Speakers, but at higher volume levels, the quality drops off a little bit. Of course you could just buy external speakers or use good earphones like most people do ya silly sally! ;)

- It’s effen quiet. You will no longer have to have to listen to that buzzing noise you always hear with other laptops…also, you can’t fart and have nobody notice, so that might be a downfall of the quietness, haha.

- The hard drive is huge. For those of you who don’t know what the heck a hard drive actuall does, that is the place where all your files are stored. All your movies, pictures, etc are store on the hard drive. So after years of use, you may have a lot of crap built up on there. But no worries, the hard drive is big enough on the Toshiba L755-S5271 that it won’t slow down your computer after a few years of saved videos of your cat doing stupid things.

- Battery is better than you expect. I know I said I will probably last for 4 hours, but I’m seeing in the forums and other reviews of the Toshiba L755-S5271, and it seems like there is more power than I thought…so that’s good.

- Big bang for your buck. At under $500, you can’t go wrong with an all around system like this. You probably have a budget, or expect to pay, at least $800 for a decent laptop. So the price range is perfect for everyone.

I need something with good graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics will work well for the games I love to play. The 1GB of memory doesn’t hurt either.
